Schools at the Festival
Each year, the SFIAAFF invites students from San Francisco’s public and private high schools to attend specially curated film screenings and discussions. Designed to engage, provoke and inspire, Schools at the Festival offers an opportunity for youths to view Asian American films and to participate in post-screening dialogues with filmmakers and members of the community. Through subsidized, low-cost tickets, thousands of students have attended the SFIAAFF through the Schools at the Festival program and been introduced to the worlds of independent and Asian American film.
This year’s Schools at the Festival screenings are:
- ONLY THE BRAVE, Dir. Lane Nishikawa
- PUNCHING AT THE SUN Dir. Tanuj Chopra
- SENTENCED HOME Dir. David Grabias & Nicole Newnham
These screenings are not listed in the Festival catalog. If you are an educator and interested in participating in the SFIAAFF’s Schools At The Festival program, please email pam@asianamericanmedia.org or call 415.863.0814 x108 for more details.
