CAAM is proud to present, in collaboration with artist Kip Fulbeck, HAPAS.US. This new interactive website is where multiracial Asian Americans can share their stories about the hapa experience. Come to Festival Forum and check out HAPAS.US. Stations will be available for people to make profiles, create and upload images, as well as record and submit videos. Bring pictures of yourself and family members to submit to HAPAS.US and the digital image wall.

MAKE YOUR OWN MOVIE Create your own film at the Festival. CAAM will be checking out Flip video cameras at the Festival Forum for festivalgoers to make their own movies. Grab a camera and show us your festival experience and we’ll select the best videos to premiere on www.asianamericanmedia.org.
ETH-NOH-TEC is kinetic story theater that is at once precision choreography, lyrical word-weaving, graceful, playful and poetic. By layering ancient Asian mythologies, folktales and Asian urban legends with Asian American sensibilities, Eth-Noh-Tec has created an exciting new blend of storytelling and physical theater.

JANE LUI. Melodic. Nostalgic. Jane is an award-winning singer/songerwriter who has opened for Jason Mraz, Kate Earl, Jim Bianco, Jay Nash, Tom Brosseau, and Vienna Teng. Influences include Brazilian jazz, folk, and classical.
TOSHIO HIRANO is a San Francisco-based bluegrass singer, who can regularly be seen performing at clubs such as Amnesia and The Rite Spot. A native of Japan, Hirano has lived, worked and performed across the US for the past thirty years, and is the subject of a short documentary screening at this year’s Festival, WAITING FOR A TRAIN, directed by Oscar Bucher.
SAMBASIA SF is an award-winning multi-ethnic multi-generational escola de samba (community-based samba school) modeled after those in Rio de Janeiro and the Bloco Afros of Salvador Bahia. SambAsia’s theme of “One World Awareness, Building Cultural Bridges” was born out of SambAsia’s founder Jimmy Biala’s observations of the separation that continues to exist between different areas of San Francisco despite the diversity of our city.
HUNG DYNASTY is a Bay Area breakdancing crew which has been performing since 2006. Made up of members of many of the Bay Area’s most renowned bboy crews, the HUNG DYNASTY features the moves of: Jason Lam, Hung Van Lam, Rob Creer, Ron Creer, Miles Kennedi.
GOH NAKAMURA is a San Francisco Bay Area based musician who writes ditties about parking tickets, impossible crushes and faraway dreamlands. With one foot in the traditional troubadour world and another in the digital age, he performs at venues small, large, and virtual, to an enthusiastic and ever-growing audience. Goh’s vocals and guitar work are featured prominently on the scores to Ridley Scott films “A Good Year” and, most recently, “American Gangster.”
CAST OF THOUSANDS is a San Francisco-based indie rock trio whose combination of melody and dark imagery has earned it a growing following through robust recordings and intense live performances. The dynamic rhythms of drummer Derrick Hostetter and boy-girl vocal harmonies of guitarist Burt Hashiguchi and bass guitarist Jennifer Yee accentuate their heavy-yet-melodic style. During performances, they churn out a combination of hooks, volume, and intensity.

MUD, a fixture of the San Francisco music scene since 2001 has developed a strong loyal following of fans addicted to the band’s heavy guitar riffs, infectious melodies and collection of high energy pop songs, that draw comparisons to successful crossover bands like BLONDIE, GREEN DAY, and JIMMY EAT WORLD.
DJ SIMILAK CHYLD aka Sabrina Tsang is known for moving dancefloors from San Francisco to New York and Japan with her unique fusion of hip-hop, soul, reggae, breaks and Latin music and also works with the Triple Threat musical crew, fabric8 boutique/gallery and FTC Skate. Similak Chyld has played alongside such renowned artists as Wu Tang Clan, Jurassic 5, Z-Trip, Mix Master Mike, Little Louie Vega, Goldie, and countless others.
DJ FRANKY FRESH is a DJ/promoter in the Bay Area and holds residencies at Poleng Lounge (SF), The Shattuck Downlow (Berkeley), and Milk (SF). Whether it’s playing at an Obama Campaign Rally or opening up for superstars like DJ Quik or Mix Master Mike (Beastie Boys), Franky Fresh blend of feel good beats always keeps the party movin’.
