The 26th San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival opens with A Thousand Years of Good Prayers, marking indie legend Wayne Wang’s return to Asian American storytelling. Based on a short story by Yiyun Li, Wang’s latest tells the story of a Chinese father attempting to bridge the emotional distance as he visits his Americanized daughter in the States.
Screening will be held at the Castro Theatre, followed by a stylish Gala reception at the Asian Art Museum.
